Offered is a beautiful pair of antique majolica plates featuring raised grapevine and leaf design with rich turquoise, cobalt blue, green, brown glazes accented by pink grape clusters. The borders are deeply textured with a repeating foliate pattern, characteristic of Villeroy & Boch's high-quality majolica of the period.
MAKER'S MARK: Villeroy & Boch "V & B / S" maker's mark" and mold numbers

- Good antique condition with expected wear for over 120 years old. On the fronts the vivid glaze colors remain bright. … moreGood antique condition with expected wear for over 120 years old. On the fronts the vivid glaze colors remain bright. One plate is in really fine condition with minor wear from age and use. The other plate has a small brown dot in the turquoise glaze original to the firing of the piece. Backsides are both impressed with mold numbers and maker's marks are legible.
