SNCC: Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee. Silk screen poster in red and black, 35 x 22½ inches, depicting a man holding a child; circa 1965. This particular version of this poster usually has SNCC in bold lettering at the bottom of the poster. This is the only one I have ever seen without it which I think enhances its value. Earl Newman was commissioned for this poster to raise money and awareness for the SNCC. Its obvious emphasis on the African American family unit especially regarding the beneficial influence of male role models in the community.

Condition: This poster came to me pretty beat up... For that reason I had it professionally restored. This is what they did to it. Remove tape and reduce adhesive residue; dry superficial cleaning; deacidify; mend tears; mount to archival material; press; retouch tear seams, creases, and abrasions. The poster image itself looks amazing. The color really pops after being cleaned and they did the best they could with the corner boarders where tacks and nails were used at some point. This poster is ready to be framed and enjoyed. See less
