A Very Nice Antique Staffordshire Gaudy Ironstone Flow Blue Plate, Circa 1850's
Marked on the back with the English Registry mark, and Impressed: Niagara shape, by E. Walley
Made by Edward Walley of Cobridge, Stoke on Trent, 1845-1856
the Registry mark dates to: November 9th of 1856.
Gaudy brushed flow blue with copper resist strawberry, and strawberry leaf decorations.
The "Gaudy" ironstone patterns were generally sold to the Pennsylvania German markets in the mid 19th century.
Size: 8 1/2" across
Condition: Very nice antique preserved condition. Very minor use and wear marks associated with age and use. Light wear to the hand painted decorations.
