Stunning Pair, a vintage Japanese hand painted bowls presented in a navy blue and deep ox blood red, these shallow bowls are done in an Imari style. The inside of each shallow bowl is hand painted in classic and timeless patterns of florals and geometrics. The outside of the bowl is white and rest on a small pedestal at the base, giving it nice lift. They are beautiful to display where you need symmetry along a bookshelf, or a centerpieces in a table
Each has a hallmark on the bottom that I was not able to identify, although I did determine it is Japanese
8 3/8 inches in diameter by 2 inches tall
Nice condition, no chips, no cracks. Minor loss of gold at the very edge of the rim, likely from handling.
