the goat seller.

bartolomeo pinelli (rome, november 20, 1781 – rome, april 1, 1835) was an italian engraver, painter, and ceramist.
an extremely prolific graphic artist, recent estimates estimate that he produced approximately four thousand engravings and ten thousand drawings.
in his prints, he illustrated the costumes of the italian people, great literary masterpieces, and subjects from roman, greek, and napoleonic history, among others. His most recurring theme was rome, its inhabitants, its monuments, the ancient city, and its contemporary counterpart. Among his students was the renowned portraitist from gorizia, giuseppe tominz.
his work as an illustrator possesses, beyond its intrinsic artistic value, significant documentary significance for the ethnography of rome, italy, and switzerland. In addition to his repertoire of images dedicated to roman costumes, he illustrated numerous books, creating cycles inspired by the iliad, the odyssey, the aeneid, and greco-roman mythology. Works that most reveal the imprint of neoclassicism. This piece has an attribution mark,
