Crafted in France circa 1870, the round cabinet features a beautifully figured walnut exterior with a rich honey-brown finish, highlighting the natural grain and character of the wood.

The circular top is framed by a thick molded walnut border and fitted with an inset reddish-brown tooled leather panel, embellished with a delicate gilt floral border and central gold medallion. The aged leather displays an attractive patina, with natural variations and surface wear that add to the piece’s authenticity.

The cylindrical body features a discreet curved door fitted with a small turned wooden knob. The door opens to reveal a spacious interior divided by a semicircular shelf, providing convenient storage for books, personal belongings, or bedside essentials. The cabinet rests on a substantial circular plinth base, giving the piece a balanced and architectural appearance.

Originally designed as a bedside cabinet, or somno, this antique table also works beautifully as a nightstand, occasional side table, or lamp stand in a bedroom, library, or living room.

The Louis Philippe cabinet is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, retaining a rich walnut patina and beautifully aged leather top.
