Richly detailed antique frame featuring a unique blend of warm wood and silver-toned gesso ornamentation. The layered construction includes a flat walnut or oak profile with inset foliate and scrollwork moldings, giving the piece a refined neoclassical-meets-rustic feel.
The frame’s decorative gesso ornamentation recalls the craftsmanship of 19th American and European frame makers. This piece would complement traditional, French Provincial, Arts & Crafts, or Rustic and Western interiors. Comparable in aesthetic to Ralph Lauren and frames by Herter Brothers, Klingshirn, or those found in period-style pieces from LaBarge or Robert E. Smith Studios.
