This Really is a Very Nice Looking Authentic Antique American Primitive Stoneware Jug. Circa Approx 1870s. It is Embossed with a Number 2 Confirming its 2 Gallon Liquid Storage Capacity. It has No Makers Mark but it is was Most Likely Made in the Upstate New York Region. It has a Salt Glaze Exterior and It is Rendered a Classic American Jug Form. The Front of the Jug has a Wonderful Blue Color Hand Decorated Stylized Flower Decoration. Back in the Day These Types of Stoneware Items were a Necessity in Most of Americas Farms and Household's and They were Made - Intended For Everyday Utilitarian Use. These Types of Jugs were Commonly Used to Store Liquids such as Ciders, Vinegar, Ales, Liquors & Spirits, Spring Water Etc. It is in Excellent Original Condition and it Displays Beautifully. It has a Small Chip at the Spout and a Faint Surface Glaze Only Crack at the Bottom Perimeter Area - See Last Photograph. No Cracks - No Repairs..
