A red Da Ya Zhai mark and a red Tian Di Yi Jia Chun oval cartouche are glazed on the shoulder of the vase. The body and neck of the vase are decorated with a finely drawn, Chinese magpie perched on a branching peony bush with violet blossoms, amid butterflies and fruited grape vines. A red and white, Yong Qing Chan Chun, Guangxu mark is glazed to the inset base. Circa Republic of China era no later than mid century.
