This rare late 19th-century antique souvenir plate was manufactured by the renowned Wedgwood pottery in Staffordshire, England. Crafted during the circa 1892–1899 period, this highly collectible piece features a striking, deep cobalt "flow blue" transferware design from Wedgwood's coveted historical Americana panoramic view series.
The central vignette features a meticulously engraved architectural rendering of the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. as it was during its grand construction era in 1892. The intricate historical scene is framed elegantly by Wedgwood's signature sprawling rose and floral border.
Made from high-quality glazed earthenware ironstone, this classic piece of English craftsmanship measures approximately 9.25 inches in diameter with a 1.0-inch depth. It remains in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks. Light, age-appropriate glaze crazing may be present on the reverse, enhancing its authentic vintage character. An ideal acquisition for discerning collectors of Americana or fine flow blue pottery, it serves as a sophisticated wall accent or cabinet display piece for high-end interior spaces.
