This striking 10-inch porcelain plate offers a dizzying, edge-to-edge explosion of hand-painted Famille Rose enamels that completely smothers its heavy gold-gilt canvas. Decorated in Hong Kong during the mid-century Chinoiserie revival, it’s a brilliant masterclass in texture—where hyper-saturated pink peonies, winding chrysanthemums, and delicate blue asters break up the brilliant flash of the gilded background. Instead of fading into the background, this piece is designed to command attention on a stack of moody art books, break up a monotone gallery wall, or anchor a Grandmillennial dining vignette.
