Beautiful grain to the mahogany in particular the lid. The desk has a nicely fitted interior with document drawers on either side of the prospect door. I like how what appears to be valances over the cubby holes are actually drawers. The slant lid has a small area lined with felt to write on. The felt is a recent replacement. There are numerous ink stains to the interior as can be seen in the photos. On the right side of the desk is a repair to the side of the case. I dont know why this are needed repair but none the less it is there. The lower drawers originally had wooden knobs for drawer pulls. These have been replaced with oval brass pulls. The desk was possibly refinished years ago. The feet may have been restored years ago. Drawers all show hand dovetail construction. Handsome desk ready for your enjoyment. Desk is 41" wide and stands 42 1/4" tall and is 21" deep. The writing height is 30 1/4" which is comfortable to work at. See less
