We believe this pair of plates is from the Near East, possibly India or Persia, almost in what would now be considered a Brutalist style. They feature etched Damascene steel with applied brass or bronze accents. The plates originally would have been gilded with fantastic detailed decoration on the larger leaves. Other than that we have very little information on what exactly or where exactly these plates originate from, but our best guess is the latter part of the 19th century in Asia.

Condition: Gilding has worn off and there is some rust and oxidation.
