A very well elaborated piece, with intricate closing mechanism
A dragon-like animal carved upfront
Two types of exotic wood, lighter body and darker, ebonized top
It is a tongal, or tobacco box, traditional man's accessory from Sumba island
Great patina, smooth, polished feeling
Circa early/mid 20th c., it comes with other Indonesian artifacts in a small, but sophisticated collection from Netherlands
Measurements: Approximately 5" x 4.75" x 1.25" overall
