A fine 19th century porcelain vase made by C.G. Schierholz & Sohn in c1865.
"The Schierholz porcelain factory, founded in 1817 in Plaue, Thuringia, Germany by Johann Karl Rudolf Heuäcker and Dr. Gottlob Ferdinand Heuacker, gained fame for its lithophanes and high-quality Dresden ware known for its Rococo, ornate style with lavish gilding and applied decorations"
The vase is gilded and decorated with flowers and romantic Victorian scenes. It has the early blue 'cross lines mark' on the base.
