Folding armchair attributed to andré monpoix, a piece of modernist design
a highly refined chrome-plated tubular metal frame, creating a silhouette that is both light and architecturally structured.
the frame is supported by legs finished with black feet.
the lines are clean, light, and almost architectural—a subtle balance between functionality and aesthetics.
the armchair is elegant, embodying the purity of french modernist design.
seat and backrest upholstered in faux leather, a signature material of the vintage era, and at the time, a rather expensive covering.
a very discreet flaw; see photo.
fawn color (orange-brown).
foldable, it combines sophistication and practicality, making it a piece that is as beautiful as it is clever.
the piece reflects a pursuit of simplicity and functionality characteristic of post-war modernism, where every element finds its place with obvious ease.
both sculptural and utilitarian, this armchair fits just as well in a contemporary interior as it does in a classic decor.
stable and sturdy, the armchair folds up very easily.
there are a few signs of wear and use, which remain generally discreet; the seat is in rather good condition for its age.
mid-century period, 1950–1960.
