Measuring 19.5" wide, 8" high, and ½" deep, it can be displayed on a wall, framed, or transformed into a decorative pillow. Among certain Cameroonian communities, women traditionally wore pubic aprons called 'caches sexes'—meaning 'to hide the sex'—until around 1961, when clothing laws changed. The practice persists today through elaborately beaded versions. In the Mandara mountains, Matakam women crafted these aprons from small iron strips secured by fiber belts, preserving a rich cultural legacy. See less
