A beautifully crafted Bergère armchair in the Louis XV style, attributed to Hancock & Moore, known for their superb traditional craftsmanship. This elegant chair showcases a hand-carved wooden frame with flowing Rococo curves, a subtly scalloped crest rail, and graceful cabriole legs.
The front is upholstered in a rich, velvet fabric with deep button tufting along the high backrest, adding both texture and opulence. A plush seat cushion offers exceptional comfort, while the gently set-back armrests reflect the classic proportions of 18th-century French Shepherdess chairs. The reverse side features a charming plaid fabric, creating a tasteful contrast that highlights its refined, bespoke character.
Though unmarked, the overall quality is in keeping with Hancock & Moore’s reputation for heirloom-grade pieces. A sophisticated choice for any study, bedroom, or formal living area.
In excellent condition with minor, age-appropriate wear.
