William IV 19th century writing slope circa 1835.
Elegant and good quality William IV rosewood writing slope.
Clean elegant lines, comes with original mother of pearl cartouche, named and dated 1835. Working original lock opens for the lid to come down to form a writing surface, with original leather surface, which also folds back on itself for further storage. Top lid opens to reveal the pen tray and various compartments; this also lifts out to reveal a secret single drawer.
Fine quality example. Very minor shrinkage to lid, but doesn't affect lock function. Importantly, sits true and flat. Very minor surface marks from use.
Depth open: 16 1/4"
