If you need to add something special on your desk or shelf this is it. Hallmarks date this item 1902. Made in England - Tray Measures 5.5" long x 2.75" wide x 0.75" high - The ink well Mearsures about 2" high x 1.75" wide x 1.75" long -- Stands 3" tall Inkwell in the tray.

A very simple and elegant design. The tray is made for the inkwell or is the inkwell made for the tray. Both are a perfect combination of function and design. Both are hallmarked and made by the same silversmith and both are in excellent condition.

With the glass it is unknown of the weight of the inkwell lid and rim but the tray has a weight of 52 grams.

This piece of history when you think back of who may have been using this in 1902 and treasured it during the world war, crazy roaring 20's and survived the depression and so on. What documents were signed with the quill that was dipped in this - Cards, letters, could be just about anything Love letters, off to war heroes, congratulations on marriage or baby announcements, sympathy cards for passed loved ones.
