Crafted circa 1870, the piece measures 15.5 inches wide by 19 inches high and features the classic rounded top and clean, understated silhouette typical of the Louis Philippe period. The gilt frame is subtly etched with delicate foliate motifs and finished with a beaded inner trim, all worn to a soft, time-earned patina.
The original mercury glass plate remains intact, showing gentle spotting and silvering loss consistent with age, which enhances its authentic appeal. The mirror also retains its original wooden back, secured using traditional 19th-century joinery, with a later-added hanging wire for practical display.
