Contemporary, custom made, Murano Sommerso blown glass Sculpture of an underwater ocean reef scene enclosed in a large open shell … Read more Contemporary, custom made, Murano Sommerso blown glass Sculpture of an underwater ocean reef scene enclosed in a large open shell on a post modern platform stand encrusted with glass mosaic. The inside of the shell is a complete reef scene with colorful orange and black striped reef fish, purple urchins, white stones and yellow seaweed. The shell itself is made of one large piece of blown and molded light green glass with scalloped edges and a curled end. The stand, made of wood has silvered square tiles encircling the base and reflective red glass shards covering the top. On the top of the platform, next to the shell and holding it up, is a large glass "bubble" flanked by 2 orange glass spiny starfish. This sculpture measures 13.25 long 12.75" deep and 8.75" high and weighs a hefty 19 lbs 8 oz. It was made and sold by Signoretti in Venice in 2011 and the related documents are included.
