These vases were designed by the innovative and renowned typographer and graphic designer Takenobu Igarashi for Y/M/D and manufactured in Japan by Takenaka Works Co., Ltd. in the early 1990s. Igarashi said of the design that he wanted to create a flower vase that suggests a flower even in its absence. Igarashi was a frequent collaborator with the Museum of Modern Art and his work is documented in the permanent Igarashi Takenobu Archive at the Kanazawa Institute of Technology. See less
