With a pale green lustre reminiscent of jade and a super smooth glaze celadons remain some of the most prized collector's items in the world of ceramics. These ceramics almost indescribable sheen itself seems to evoke Buddhist spirituality. The Chawan (cup or tea bowl) is considered a very important part of Korea's, China's and Japan’s national heritage. Having one makes drinking tea a special experience. It elevates the everyday bowl to a work of art.
These celadon ceramic chawan bowls/cups are gorgeous. Each one is decorated with ginkgo-biloba leaves and natural crackled underglaze. Each is signed on the base.
Inside each cups has a celadon ceramic strainer for use with leaf-teas.
Saucers/plates accompany each teacup.
Dimensions: 4 inches tall (each cup with lid); Saucer 4.75 inches diam. each.
Each in very good condition with no obvious marks or damages noted.
