Von Schierholz Fox Hunting Figurine, 1907-1920s
A charming and finely detailed Von Schierholz porcelain figurine depicting a fox hunter resting with his loyal hound at his feet. This piece captures a quintessentially British sporting scene, with the gentleman dressed in traditional hunting attire—scarlet coat, ivory breeches, and black boots—perched on a rustic fence post amidst hand-applied foliage and florals. At the base, his faithful dog gazes upward, adding warmth and narrative to the pastoral setting.
Measuring 3.5 inches wide by 5 inches high, the figurine bears the Von Schierholz mark used between 1907 and the 1920s.
Founded in 1817 in Plaue, Thuringia, Germany, the Von Schierholz porcelain factory gained acclaim for producing high-quality Dresden ware.
