Fabulously rustic beauty handwoven using wood lashes and splints which have aged gracefully producing the earthy multi-dimensional colors seen in the photos. The handle was formed from two knobby branches which were secured at the apex with nails (see photo 2). A true wabi-sabi piece with bumps and bruises of a long life obviously but a representation of a time-worn handcrafted art form of utilitarian ware from the past with an enduring charm and appeal. A perfect example of what wabi-sabi is all about, the ability to embrace the perfectly imperfect. It measures 16½” x 8½” x 7¼” H/W/D; interior 8¼” x 6½” x 6½” H/W/D; weight 13 oz. In good condition with age-appropriate wear that includes breakage of a few lashes at the base (see photo 7, 8, 10 & 12) that does not affect the overall integrity or beauty of the basket. An unpretentious beauty that will complement most any design style and add pop of stylish rustic chic to any space! Note, faux greens are not included.
