A fantastic Biedermeier period trumeau from France, 19th century, made of birch wood and ebonized details around the original mirror plate. The architectural-inspired form is crowned by a pitched roofline to frame a central panel of ebonized semicircle/demilune dotted with pairs of tole stars (also painted black) above and below. The original mirror glass is characterized by the mesmerizing texture of waves and tiny bubbles, partially obscuring the reflection, complementary to the excitement in the wood grain.
