Executed in the rare Totai Shippo technique—cloisonné enamel applied to a ceramic body rather than metal—the surface features delicate wirework forming an intricate natural scene of foliage, birds, and floral elements in deep red, forest green, grey, and cream against a warm brown ground. A refined example of Meiji-era innovation and craftsmanship. Height: 9.25 in. See less
