A monumental sized fine antique, 1920's pagoda mantel French mirror.
This is an exquisite antique mirror and extremely rare. The mirror features a gold gilt and ebonized finish on a mahogany wood surround. The details are incredible on the frame which include several carved gesso rosettes, leafs, chippendale lower half and a massive pagoda carved structure on the center of the mirror.
This is a very old mirror so the frame is delicate. The mirror was made to sit on a mantel or credenza. If you desire to hang it on a wall you will need to have it professionally backed and braced for security purposes. It does not have hangers as it was made to lean.
It's a massive mirror and is extremely heavy. I've never seen one like it before. The massive pagoda designed center is so striking and unique, as well as the beautiful chippendale lower area.
This fine antique will be a show stopper in any room and will be enjoyed for another 100 years to come.

The frame has some minor losses on the decorative moulding floret. A few pieces have been repaired on the pagoda corner and the pagoda hanging decorative piece in the center. The mirror itself has a few small marks as shown in the last photo from age. As you can see there is no backing on the mirror. less
