The key fob is marked "509" on the front - which appears to be handwritten on paper & Savoy Hotel & Florence" in gold.. The back is marked "Leather school Monastery of S. Croce Florence". The corners are brass w/ a rivet on the back.

The key is spectacular - very detailed. The top/bow seems to be brass and the stem and "bit" metal.

The "leather school" is the Scuola del Cuoio located inside the Monastery of Santa Croce. According to their website "Scuola del Cuoio was founded after World War II through the collaborative efforts of the Franciscan friars of the Monastery of Santa Croce and the Gori and Casini families, Florentine leather artisans since the 1930’s. Their mission was to give orphans of the war a means to learn a practical trade with which to earn a living." It is worth your time to look up the school and see its full history. It is still in existence today producing beautiful leather goods.

The beautiful 5-star Hotel Savoy, opened in the late 1800's, is located in the heart of Florence.
