These ginger jars are skilfully hand thrown and decorated with many characterful orange koi fish, each is different. The tops wit finials each have 2 koi fish.
Red apocryphal base mark of Jiaqing era on the underside. During this period most wares are marked with the Zhuanshu "archaic seal", a continuation of its popularity from the Qianlong period. These heavy jars date from late 19th - early 20th. Century.
Scattered imperfections visible against the black ground typical of the period.
Expertly trimmed foot on both.
