A charming mid-century landscape that captures a quiet rural scene under an expansive sky, executed in oil onto board.

To the left, several golden haystacks rise against the horizon, their rounded forms accented by loosely placed poles, hinting at agricultural life and seasonal rhythms. A road leads the viewer’s eye into the middle distance, where a simple wooden gate opens toward a countryside beyond.

Executed in a restrained and muted palette, the composition reflects a serene pastoral atmosphere. The brushwork is gentle and impressionistic, with visible textures in the sky and fields that lend the painting a sense of movement and authenticity. Delicate textures in areas such as the haystacks and road adds tactile interest without overwhelming the tranquil mood.

This oil on board is housed in a complementary linen-lined wood frame with and inner and outer gilt border. The painting is in excellent vintage condition. The frame has light scuffing, as well as a chip at its bottom edge.
