A charming mid-century modernist painting that captures a quiet village street in Spain, executed in oil onto canvas and dated 1958.

The composition is anchored by whitewashed buildings with yellow and terracotta roofs, stacked geometrically against a bright sky. The perspective flattens the scene slightly, lending a graphic, almost cubist sensibility.

Rendered in oil, the artist has used confident, blocky brushstrokes to define shadows and forms. Angular planes and muted earth tones – sage green, charcoal grey, and hints of warm brown - contrast with brilliant whites and a crisp blue sky. The painting captures the play of sunlight on architecture, with simplified details like shuttered windows, steep stone steps, and doors suggested rather than articulated.
