Paul Anthony Fish Poacher From Atlanta Rainblue Art Gallery
Anthony Stoneware is an American pottery founded in 1966 by Paul Anthony with the vision & passion to produce functional ceramic ware of high material integrity, excellent design and pleasing aesthetic.
Anthony Stoneware is the pottery of Paul Anthony and Tim Jaqua who work from their studio in Western North Carolina using traditional techniques of wheel-throwing and slab construction. Not only do they mix their own glazes, but the pottery is fired in a gas-fired kiln which they designed and built. Each piece is handcrafted on the potter's wheel or constructed from clay slabs using techniques that Paul and Tim have been developing in the studio since 1966.
Carved and sculpted rims are prevalent and have become the signature design element of their work. All ware is fired to 2400o F to create a very durable, vitreous product that will not decay, fade, or breakdown, which with care will become an heirloom.
A great pottery pieces with a lot of visual and textural interest.
By the time Rainblue Gallery closed around 2013, they had been in business nearly 40 years (started in 1976) selling handcrafted pottery and gifts and had featured the works of many artists including Millbrook Pottery, Elain & Bill Snell, Paul Borian, Chad and Sara Lund, Mary Holmes, Ira Burhan, Paul Anthony, Bridget and Bill at Sunset Canyon Pottery, Newman, Chris Bragg, Evan & Kyanne Livingston, Bruce Fairman, Kerry Gonzalez, Barbara Keener, Brian Kunkelman, Michael and Lisa Rubenstein, and showcased a large selection of Bill Campbell pottery. So, the artists sold there could have been nearly anyone, provided they were American with a heavy preference towards potters who worked locally and regionally proximate to Atlanta, Georgia. So that's how the work of a Plano, Texas artist came to be sold at an Atlanta, Georgia, retail store.
Lead free, dishwasher safe. Stoneware cannot go into the oven when chilled or into the refrigerator when hot.
