This poster, a study in photo realism, was created for an exhibition, held at the International Center of Photography, in New York, called
"A Wider Perspective".
Pear Blossom Highway is an iconic desert road, located in the Antelope Valley in California
Hockney's rendition of this piece of roadway was created using over 800 photographs of various sizes and perspectives.
These photographs were then montaged together, to create an enormous composition, of a single vista, seen in mixed perspectives; close-up, distance, and from all four directions, East, West, North and South
The piece was created, in a little over one week, on-site, using a multitude of cameras,
The finished piece was an extraordinary, cubist collage of details, individually captured.
Printed in large format on heavy duty quality paper, printed in the United Kingdom.
