This richly glazed, mid-century vase is part of the iconic “Thai Silk” series designed by Aldo Londi for Bitossi and imported to the U.S. by Rosenthal Netter in the 1960s.

The vase features a classic rounded form with a flared collar and deep olive-green glaze, accented by a bold, blue band encircling the lower half with a thinner band around the top. Stylized, gold-tone floral motifs, textured for a silk-like shimmer, add a striking contrast—hallmarks of the Thai Silk line.

The underside retains its original Rosenthal Netter paper label (“Created in Italy for Rosenthal Netter, Inc.”), and is marked with the hand-painted production number “64/3,” consistent with Bitossi cataloguing of the era.

Rosenthal Netter was known for its MCM designs and its collaborations with renowned artists and designers of the time, including Aldo Londi, other Bitossi artists, and Raymor. The company's products were sold in high-end department stores and specialty shops throughout the United States. Rosenthal Netter ceased operations in the late 1970s, but its products continue to be highly sought after by collectors of mid-century modern design. See less
