Late Georgian mahogany and leather architect’s desk, circa 1810.
Green leather writing surface with gold tooling to the border. Set in the top, and using the brass handle, the slope can rise to various angles. Rounded corners to the rectangular top. Three lockable drawers with cock-beaded edging and fitted with later handles. Raised on four turned fluted Gillow legs with ebonised elements, complete with original brass castors.
Later leather top which has typical signs of use, later replaced handles, surface marks to woodwork.
Knee height: 25 3/4"
Good colour and patina.
