This rare Elchinger vase perfectly reflects the formal explorations of midcentury designers. Its form, free from any constraints or references, blossoms into volutes, like supple drapes. The shape of the neck of this ceramic evokes the corolla of a flower. The glaze is contrasting, expressing itself in a matte powder yellow tone on the exterior with a deep, glossy black on the interior.
Free-form, all volutes, this vase is rare in both its form and its colors. It is a design by Fernand Elchinger. It is signed with a stylus on the back and is in very good condition.
