Hand-painted in the Netherlands during the 1950s, each sculptural vessel features a distinct silhouette—one an elongated baluster, the other a dynamic double-gourd form—offering striking contrast and visual rhythm.

Executed in vibrant polychrome glazes, the surfaces are richly adorned with floral sprays, perched birds, and fruit clusters, rendered in deep cobalt, mustard, wine red, lilac, and verdant green—all outlined in bold black for graphic depth. This painterly decoration references 18th-century Delft polychrome traditions, themselves inspired by Chinese famille verte porcelain and Japanese Imari ware, but with a distinctly modern Dutch sensibility.
