The table … Read more An elegant Austrian Biedermeier round side table, c.1830, crafted in burled walnut veneer with a sculptural, architectural presence. The table features a Belgium black marble top (added in 2006 by Bernd Goeckler Antiques, New York) . Four gracefully curving supports rise from a cruciform plinth, creating the balanced, neoclassical geometry characteristic of early 19th‑century Biedermeier design. The burled walnut veneer has a warm, matte finish with areas of age‑appropriate wear, and the marble top shows light scratches and small etchings. The marble is placed rather than glued, allowing for easy refinishing or replacement if desired.
Dimensions: 18" H × 14" diameter. Condition: Good antique condition consistent with age and use. Veneer wear and marble surface marks as shown. A refined accent for a reading corner, entry, or bedside, and a beautifully proportioned example of early Austrian Biedermeier craftsmanship.
