Do not get these confused with cheaper reproductions … An easy way to tell whether they are old or not is they will have a hole in the bottom with generally either a metal plug or a cork or such, and there will almost always be two layers of glass with the silvering inbetween the layers. These have an unusual shape for mercury glass, and as a result, can go either traditional or more transitional. Who doesn’t love the look of shinny silver without the polishing! Perfect scale for a mantle or dining room, sideboard and as you can see, look great with orchids in them. See less
