This newly-upholstered antique stool features gilded cast iron legs in the Art Nouveau style.
The 15" long legs are slotted/slide-on mount with two mounting holes - slots are 1.75" long, hole centers are 1.25" apart. They terminate in paw feet and are stamped OWI 630.
The seat has been newly upholstered with Tommy Bahama Shadow Palms (outdoor) fabric and an ivory tassel trim. All new plywood base, foam cushion and batting. Original hardware has been re-used wherever possible.
Total height 17.5”, length 19”, width 11.5”.
The style and material of the legs on this piece, along with its original hardware and upholstery (straw-stuffed, Victorian upholstery tacks), allow me to confidently date it to the turn of the century.
It is in excellent condition. The legs are not dinged, bent, or rusted and still maintain their original gilding. The upholstery is all brand new.
