Gio ponti (1891-1979) pair of headboards for the hotel royal continental. Matching headboards in maple wood with double shelf, magazine rack, button panel, night light and reading lamp in brushed brass 80x160x42 cm (each element) produced in 1954 provenance: hotel royal, naples bibliography: f. Mautone, gio ponti and the fernandes commission, electa mondadori, naples 2009;be aware that the head boards are matching , but one ha a horizontal line at the top . See pictures. We decided not to refinish and to keep the original patina , to ensure the authenticity of the piece.some marks and chips and discoloration on the wood , consistent with the age and use .
