An exquisite 19th century Keller & Guérin asparagus plate from St. Clément.
Designed in the Art Nouveau style, it showcases a beautifully detailed border of chrysanthemum flower heads framing three sculpted asparagus spears, creating distinct sections for spears, sauce, and waste.
Featured in Maryse Bottero’s book Artichauts et Asperges en Barbotine, this plate is celebrated for its authenticity and refined craftsmanship. The maker’s mark on the reverse confirms its prestigious origin, making it a true collector’s piece.
Founded in 1758, St. Clément became famous for its faïence and later its finely shaded majolica. Acquired by Keller and Guérin in the 19th century, its pieces, often marked Saint Clément and KG, are prized for their quality and artistry.
