Two antique plates from a historical entomological work, likely a "Thesaurus" or similar collection, featuring detailed illustrations of various insect species, of the divisions of "Gryllus" (crickets and locusts). The book of plates were produced by J. Wilkes in London in 1806.
The engravings are amazingly detailed and textured. The colors are wonderful.
