This is a large bowl with a beautiful shape, very detailed painting with long tailed birds, with individual feathers, a lot of gilding, genuine gilding not sprayed on gold, and beautiful shading in the enamels. The colors are also soft, not harsh. It has kiln grit on the inside of the bowl which shows that it is a real antique that was fired using a coal kiln. Also antique rose medallion was not marked until 1891 when it was marked CHINA. After 1919 it was all marked MADE IN CHINA. Fake Rose Medallion Apocryphal marks are 20th century modern, not antique.
