American, folk art hand-carved substantial "casket" or "Jewelry" wood box French Tramp Art, from the late 1800's to early 1900's. This box features multiple geometric layers of hand-cut discarded material and wood, hinged lid, lined blue paper, brown pincushion sits on top of lid, internal removable slide out compartments and a mirror on the front, and stands on raised feet.
This piece is entirely original with the exception of 4 new nails (as shown circled in photo) and we glued back piece of its wood to make the lid functional, otherwise box has been untouched since it was made, 100 years ago plus.
