E.j. Ward r. A. And in block letters the initials l.s.d. The box contains two bottles in dark glass, bottles with handle with seal and stopper in stamped silver. On the seal of the neck of the bottle are engraved the figures l.s.d. The same initials of the handle. The marks on the stopper attest the silver title of 925/000 and indicate the office of assay of the city of sheffield in 1860/61 by the silversmith with the initials h.a. Unidentified.

the brass lock is from the well-known chubb of london. The box is in good condition, with the exception of the green internal lining which shows signs of wear consistent with the date and use.
