The top is edged with a simple beaded rim and retains its original tilt-top mechanism and hand-wrought iron locking latch, allowing it to fold upright and tuck against the wall, just as it was intended to do two centuries ago. A turned pedestal supports three elegantly arched cabriole legs that end in narrow pad feet, giving the piece a quiet, sculptural presence.
