Crafted in France circa 1880, this charming pair of hand-carved marble eagles captures the majesty of these birds of prey in a compact and highly decorative form. Each sculpture is rendered from creamy variegated marble with dramatic gray veining, lending the wings and plumage a striking naturalistic texture.
The birds are perched atop rocky bases, their talons delicately carved and their expressions brought to life with inset glass eyes, adding a subtle yet lifelike intensity. Despite their modest scale—measuring 8.5 inches high by 2.5 inches wide and 3 inches deep—they are rich in detail and presence.
